Sportson was founded in Gothenburg in 1980 and is today run under a common franchise concept with 23 stores in 14 locations around the country – from Gothenburg in the west to Sundsvall in the north. The goal is to continue to grow continuously and Sportson is today Sweden’s largest bicycle specialist chain. The ambition is to be the best on bicycles and accessories and to offer the market’s widest range of well-known brands. Sportson is proud of its knowledgeable, committed and service-oriented store staff with skilled bicycle mechanics in their own workshops. The company lives by the motto “We know cycling”.
Sportson implemented its Storm e-commerce platform in 2017 with Grebban as Solution Partner.
Sportson previously worked very manually and was unable to offer sales online and presented only the products via a digital catalog. With the new solution, Sportson gets a better structure on its product data and a system that enables business development at all levels. The work of connecting several different systems to one platform facilitates the administration, the sales online and in the physical stores. The solution integrates both the point-of-sale systems (POS) and the ERP for supply of product data.
During the development of Sportson’s omni-channel solution, a separate project was initiated to broaden Sportson’s service offering to companies and public sector. Thanks to Storm, Sportson was able to easily create customer-specific portals for sales in both the private and public sector in order to build long-term and recurring business in a new way. As a result of, among other things, health and environmental effects, the bicycle takes on an ever-increasing place in the operations in both the public and private sectors. In order to meet the high demands on new markets, a new solution was required that was both universal and flexible.
